Finished Baby's Room

We finally finished the baby's room!

Josh and I have had SO much fun making the room just the way we wanted it! We chose a combination of a Noah's Ark/jungle/safari animal theme for the room. It was pretty early on when we found a bedding set we really liked and ever since then, we keep running across things that match our theme and have just added little pieces here and there. We think it all came together very nicely and it's just been such a fun, bonding experience for Josh and I. We are both in love with the room and cannot wait until October when we finally get to meet our little miracle!

Here are some pics of the finished room!

Our Baby's Daily Prayer:

We found these awesome wall animals at Babies R Us and then had a sticker set of animals and just combined them for decoration.

Chair:

We found several of our decorations at Parables, which is a Christian bookstore here in Omaha and one of our favorite stores.

Here's the sign that hangs above the baby's crib:

Here's the baby's laundry hamper and the sleep giraffe that makes four different kinds of noises and should help the baby sleep.

22-Week Belly Pics!

I haven't posted many belly pictures but thought I would post a few that Josh took tonight! Today was my birthday, 34 years old! So, we thought it would be a good time to take some more shots.

Here's the envelope where the baby's gender is sealed away!

We found this saying for the baby's room at Parables and thought it was very appropriate after our long journey to becoming parents. It says, "Good Keeps His Promises."

20-Week Ultrasound/The Suspence Continues....

Well, we made it to the HALF-WAY MARK!! We are officially half-way done with the pregnancy! It's so hard to believe! Today, we had our big 20-week ultrasound but we ultimately decided NOT to find out the gender and be surprised.

I really went back and forth about finding out, but Josh made a good point. He said that throughout all of our fertility treatments, everything has been so scheduled and predicted. Nothing throughout this process has been a surprise. So, not finding out our baby's gender is the one surprise we have in this process.

The ultrasound wasn't as impressive as the ones we've had in the past because the ultrasound tech appeared to be new and didn't really take the time to let us get a good glimpse of the baby. But, we did get some pictures!

Here's a pic of the feet:

They did a full anatomy scan of the baby and everything continues to look perfect! We did have the ultrasound tech look for the gender and she printed off a picture for us and wrote down the gender and then we sealed it in an envelope. Just in case we change our minds and can't wait to find out, we will have the option to peek!

We are very thankful to our amazing God for giving us 20 weeks so far and we look forward to the 2nd half until we welcome our little miracle into the world!

Surprise from Josh!

Tonight Josh came home from work and surprised me with a gift from one of our favorite stores. Parables is a Christian bookstore/gift store here in Omaha and we always love browsing through there.

He bought a onesie for the baby that said, "Proof that Miracles Happen." I was pretty touched and really reflects our feelings on how God is working a miracle in our lives.

17-Weeks!

Today I went in for a last minute doctor's appointment after having some issues that I thought needed to be looked at. They ended up doing an unexpected ultrasound and everything looked GREAT! The baby is continuing to develop normally and there appears to be no problems. It is never tiring seeing our little miracle on the ultrasound and it brings me great reassurance.

They were able to do a 3-D picture of the baby and I have decided that it looks just like Josh! ;-)

Friends Wedding AND New Stroller/Carseat Combo Gift!

This weekend we went up to my hometown in Norfolk, NE because I was a bridesmaid in the wedding of one of my best friends from high school! It was a great time, but it's pretty exhausting being a bridesmaid while pregnant! I am about 15 weeks pregnant so at least, it's early on but it was still challenging ordering the dress not knowing what size I would be. Luckily, everything fit great and the style of the dress was very comfortable! It was a beautiful wedding and we are very happy for Nelle and Jon!

Here's a picture of Josh and I from the wedding!

This was also Mother's Day Weekend so we were able to spend the time with my family. My parents surprised us with a very nice stroller/car seat combo that they bid on at a silent auction. It also came with a smaller, umbrella stroller and was such a nice, thoughful gift! We love the pattern and it will be very gender neutral!

Furniture Delivery!

We had an EXCITING day around here!

Most of the baby furniture for the nursery was delivered today from Babies R Us! The crib and two dressers came this morning and Josh was able to spend his day assembling the crib and setting everything in it's place! He had the day off since he is working this coming weekend covering Berkshire Hathaway's annual meeting. (We are still waiting on the glider chair to come but that was a special order and won't be here for several more weeks.)

Here's a shot of the guys moving the heavy dressers up the stairs:

He did a good job documenting the delivery and set up, as I was working all day.

Here is one dresser in place next to the changing table. (Please excuse the mess on the changing table...it's still in need of some clearing as it's been acting as our "pharmacy" from all the fertility meds these last few years.)

Here's the second dresser in place...so, the two dressers sit directly across from eachother.

Josh starting to get out all the crib pieces and ready to assemble:

Pica stayed mostly away during all the chaos in the room but Josh said she wandered in the room when he was mostly done setting up the crib and got her picture taken.

Finished wall with Crib, Dresser and Laundry Hamper:

My amazing husband after a long, hard day of work! GREAT WORK Josh!
