I will first just say that Josh and I are total packrats! We keep EVERYTHING and
the baby's room has been serving as our guest room for the last 5 years. In addition to that, I have used the whole closet for all my extra clothes (I am addicted to clothes) ;-) and the rest of the room is jam packed full of stuff wherever we could find room!
Needless to say, we needed to get started going through things, throwing away things and getting the junk out of that room! Not an easy job! We sold our mattress on Craig's List so that helped getting a start in clearing the room!
Here's a shot of the room once the bed was gone but before we even started going through things!
Here's some more little things for the room that we picked up to match our theme:
Nightlight:
Valance:
Diaper Stacker:
Lamp:
"I know what I'm doing. I have it all planned out-plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for. When you call on me, when you come and pray to me, I'll listen. When you come looking for me, you'll find me. I'll make sure you won't be disappointed." -- Jeremiah 29:11-14

First Baby Shopping Trip!!
Our 7th wedding anniversary weekend was March 20th and for a fun activity, we thought we'd go to Babies R Us and the Baby Depot and just look around and get an idea of prices and styles for the baby's furniture!
Here's the set we really like that we may end up getting:
Here we are trying out gliders/chairs:
It was such fun after all these years to go to these baby stores and look for US and not just be looking to buy something for another one of our friends who were having a baby! We ended up deciding on a theme for our baby's room while out and about. We have decided to go with Jungle/Safari animals and keep the colors neutral around greens and yellows, since we haven't decided if we will find out the gender or not.
We went ahead and bought the bedding set and here is a picture of the comforter:

9 Week Ultrasound and First OB Appt!
Today was our FIRST real OB appointment and ultrasound!!
Our OB confirmed that we are right about 9 weeks along! This was a very exciting visit and everything has continued to progress very smoothly! The baby was looking much bigger and better than at our first ultrasound. It's amazing to see how much they can change in a short two weeks!
We were able to take a video clip of the ultrasound so we could watch later to hear the heartbeat!
The heartbeat was strong again, this time at 174 beats per minute so it was a lot faster than the first time! The rest of the appointment went fine and we had a TON of questions to ask the doctor and probably overwhelmed her! ;-)
At one point during the ultrasound, the nurse switched over to a 3-D and 4-D look at the baby, which was very neat to see!
All in all, it was a great appt. and everything continues to progress smoothly.

First Ultrasound Appt!
Well, we finally made it to our first ultrasound appt. on March 1st! The appointment was at 9am so it was nice to go first thing in the day! Once she started the ultrasound, she found the yolk sac right away with the baby inside! She searched for another sac, since they had transferred two embryos, but there was only one!
We immediately saw the heart flickering and the nurse told us that was the heart beating! She turned up the volume and we heard the heartbeat loud and clear. It registered at 146 beats per minute....so it was nice and strong!
She measured us right about at 7 weeks, 1 day and put our due date for October 18, 2011! At this point, they transferred us back to the care of our regular OB and set up our schedule to wean us off of our progesterone and estrogen supplements closer to the end of the 12th week!
